Project CLIMVINO
The Slovak Union of Grape Growers and Wine Producers, as part of the Interreg SK-AT program, participates in the international project CLIMVINO – Lowering the risk of vine disease for better and healthier grapes. The main goal of the project is long term reduction in the use of pesticides, using data from weather stations and forecasting programs, in Austrian Burgenland and Slovakia. Two high schools training future grape growers and vine producers are also taking part in the project.
The project leader is the Austrian institute Forschungsinstitut für Energie und Umweltplanung, Wirtschaft und Markt analysen. Besides the Slovak Union of Grape Growers and Wine Producers, the Bundesamt für Weinbau, Stredná odborná škola vinársko-ovocinárska v Modre and Spojená škola Rakovice are also taking part in the project.
